day two of ns resumption (or rather, day 696 in total) brings back repulsive memories of regimentation that i have been vindicated of for 8¼ months. 34 more days till summer technically begins and i'm already dreading this liability (literally). blahh.

i think i've been writing so much this sem, i didn't feel like writing here much. well, food makes me blog; that's my salad supper.

3½ weeks to summer. awesomeness. well, besides the fact that i'm heading straight back to camp for the first five weeks. but yeah. summerrrrrrrrrrrr.
i was in a relatively irrational mood today (see, econs is a fallacy), so i emptied the last entry on my long-standing wishlist by getting myself a new screen, yay! facebook in full hd glory is a bit overkill though. i'm writing it off as an advance christmas present to myself, since it concludes this crazy transitioning year. now that it's holiday month, i feel like rotting away after all that insane busyness during the term. then again, next term is only going to be worse, so i feel i should at least prepare somewhat. the payoff matrix seems quite even
oh well, indulgence never concedes..
self-explanatory title. as i continue riding on the fluctuating sine curve of busyness (its slightly low now), i occasionally contemplate writing something here but usually don't find the need to tell the world everything. like how econs still sucks, or how i stayed overnight to complete my ltb portfolio (which was awesome by the way), or how i did my ct film (if you haven't watched it on facebook yet), or how i think my is101 indiv proj was pwnage, or how i still procrastinate daily, or how i got all my bids for term two (with no morning classes
) and this is what my timetable looks like:

i'm doing only 4.0 CUs because my bidding basket is full and IS students are discriminated against not allowed to take other unicores or electives.
there you go. i've said everything i wanted to say. besides the dreaded wet weather. yesterday's straits times reported that bukit timah was drenched in half a month's worth of rain in about half an hour. that's 115 olympic pools down the drain. literally.
in tech news (the geek in me still lives): google maps finally supports live traffic data for singapore
cna: "..marks the first time a country is working with google to provide transport options.." so at least you see LTA doing something constructive rather than digging roads and causing jams daily. see for yourself.

works on google maps mobile as well. no update required (:

and now, to finish my ltb journal and econs project, and study for exams. lots of meet-ups and shopping awaits in december (:

shredded lettuce. sliced cherry tomatoes. shaved ham. shredded cheese. sliced hard-boiled eggs. salad dressing. milo with condensed milk. and econs notes.
so its week four and saying that you're dying has become so cliché that not many are alive anymore. its the period where you realise you should have started on something, you better get started on something, and hopefully not that everyone has started on something except yourself. everything seems to be due either tomorrow or next week. and the future looks rather bleak. times like these, motivation is bullshit; you whack yourself in the head, welcome yourself to the world, suck thumb, and get on with clearing your backlog. C'est la vie.
the busy kicks in. my econs prof nearly gave me a heart attack when she sent the email 'how to do your homework' on sunday night, and having me wake up early monday morning, frantically printing notes and the problem set to realise it was only due sept 7th. nice. smu is making me realise all the stuff i suck at, contrary to my tp experience. so poly was quite a scam. my timetable is slowly being occupied by meetings and more meetings, and i seem to have quite a backlog of stuff on my to-do list, which is bad. i need to read. i need to do slides. i have to start on my journal and observation book. i need to do my econs problem set. and some other homework i can't remember. all that on top of my screwed up immune system that refuses to get the virus out of me.
past four days was one of the longer weekends in a while. booked out on thursday cause breakfast wasn't indented on friday. had a great nights sleep. met w for lunch. then to battery cohesion cum bbq @ east coast, and found out that dad's birthday dinner was tomorrow instead of today, so i was perspiring in a shirt and jeans at a bbq for no reason. post-bbq, the guys crashed my place for karaoke session, ended past midnight. sat morning, breakfast with folks, coffee with w, then the real dinner @ melt~ the world cafe at mandarin oriental. it was continental buffet, and the food was really good, especially the seafood
afterwhich, supposedly a ibm/dbs supper, but only adam and saywei turned up (not my fault right?). casuarina curry, then they hit my place for some forza-ing on the 360 till two plus. today. finally. sold my P4 cpu in the morning, then F408 pool session in the afternoon. long time since we last racked up
kinda lost touch. and now, another treacherous week ahead..
well, the shuttle died, for good; after serving me for a mere 3 years. and there's little to be salvaged from the spoils, apart from the hard drives and dvd drive. and replacing just the mainboard and casing won't be cost-effective or add to any future-readiness. so there goes a month and a half of my salary allowance into my new rig. hit the more info link on the right for more details. for some reason, vista embraced the new hardware whereas xp decided to bluescreen and crash, so i had to reinstall it. but yeah, everythings fine and well now. my vista experience index upped to 5.5 from 4.3 (: lets hope this rig has a longer life expectancy.
