about time i wrote something. after lots of monotonous routine life. i managed to escape to bangkok this year for chinese new year, joining the family for the getaway tradition (after two years of not joining them). though bangkok is still.. well, about the same since the last time i saw it. the main agenda was shopping, which leaves me with plenty of roaming time since much of the cheap sh!t is feminine-oriented. spent most of the time filtering out stuff not meant for me, which is like majority.
our first stop, as always, to visit the erawan shrine aka the four-faced buddha

the hotel was across the road from central world plaza (fka world trade center before 9/11) so it was the place to do last minute stuff or go for a massage etc

i seriously think we should have traffic light countdowns in singapore too

black canyon is bangkok's answer to starbucks. its everywhere, literally.

jap cravings for our first dinner. reasonable pricing. thats way cheaper than sg.

day two was at chatuchak weekend market. bloody big place to get lost in.
the food stalls were more interesting to snap but we were really there to shop for cheap clothes and misc stuff

off to chinatown to see the lights and sounds and nudge your way through the crowd

dinner at road-side stall. been our family reunion thing since we ditched restaurants on 除夕 a while back. kinky huh.

post-dinner bird's nest dessert at another stall

day three was misc shopping at random places. like mbk center and platinum mall.

then it was grocery shopping at Big C. huge like carrefour but way way cheaper (:

the new airport is pretty neat. but still nowhere near service standards of changi :x

and i'll end with some family shots
