the one you wished they forgot to send you.. then when the time comes and you don't get it you curse and swear because they're wasting your time, youth, money, life, whatever~ so yeah. its finally here and its still wasting my time.

from now, thats 142 days. or 20 weeks. or 4 months and 20 days. or about 3408 hours. or about 204,480 minutes. or about 12,268,800 seconds.

firstly, happy 20th to cherene.. whos too eager to drop the 1 in front of her age..

all three unis have replied with acceptance letters. nus first, followed by smu, then ntu's came in today. decision needs to be made soon..

graduation is on the 23rd of may, 2pm. i have a speech to write and its killing me. dbs/ibm are only giving me half the day off..

the past two weeks had after-work meet-ups.. so the OT was rather annoying.. i've now learnt to skip the entire debrief should i have an appointment :x

met jiayi last wednesday, which was more of an installfest rather than a meet-up. helped her hook up vs05 on her vista laptop for fyp. the girl actually has a pretty good security setup. separate accounts for admin/non-admin to do different stuff. good job

was supposed to meet qinghui and wanjun the previous tuesday, but since i had not learnt the art of escape, it got pushed to the next tuesday. changing appetites at marina square. pretty cartel/nydc-ish..

thursday was with fuei and mei.. where we did marché and coffee again. except it got shifted from suntec to vivo. the vivo marché looks.. smaller? since the suntec one is gone there really isn't a choice now. dinner was followed by slack and update session at pacific. group shot~

today was a pretty last minute msp meeting. stan passed me the letters i drafted that colin signed on his last day (or so stan says) at microsoft. hes moving somewhere else, supposedly still in the IT industry. jimmy has also moved on to msn. bmo is back to strangers heh.

i also cleared the last of my tech investments today. now all tech investments are officially banned until i ORD. depreciation is no fun. i bought 2 sticks of 1GB DDR400 ram, through bidding on hardwarezone forums, because i have no money and the current price of DDR400 ram has inflated way beyond. at least i can run my vpc, photoshop, and vs05 altogether on vista now..

work sucks because of colleagues too.

so if i haven't said before, i'm working in a group of 23 folks.
and just about everyone hates has an issue with this particular individual, thereafter referenced "x". x is your typical male chauvinist pig. injected with overzealous egoism, x despises and discriminates against literally any individual whom x deems to be unworthy against his almighty portfolio, which is chicken nuggets compared to mine anyway. need i mention his judgement of worthiness is actually rather incoherent and contradictary to his own character at times? x also does not see a point in keeping his discrimination to his discretion, and prefers to voice it out vocally. speaking of which, x yanked out it's volume control knob after setting it to maximum, rendering volume control impossible and creating mass noise destruction. to complement the volume, x also possesses an impressively stunning command of the english language as proven by its fluency, or lack thereof.

x being granted minute additional authority was a mistake by management that they refuse to fix.. and as a result, x's egoism increases exponentially. the power to openly abuse subordinates verbally and refuse team efforts was tempting and utilised to significance. the same power injected with more ego facilitated the upfront denial of the abovementioned actions to the degree of fabricating baseless rebuttals against disgruntled peers, whose sole objectives were to increase efficiency and productivity.

tolerance is the only solution for x. unfortunately tolerance does have a threshold and the average threshold of the 22 others are wearing out. mine is almost at it's brim, and once it overflows, the situation would leave me no choice but to put my vocabulary to good use. oh well. lifes as such. everyone has their fair share of really nice folks and a##holes at large. so there~

i am pissed.

its already quite hard to meet up with friends since everyones busy with their own schedules. so its great when meet-ups get finalised after being pushed and pushed for ages.

then the job you're already a little annoyed with gets in the way. the job that already underpays you, makes you work 9 instead of 8 hours a day, and doesn't give you cpf. then you're forced to work at 200% efficiency because the project got delayed due to poor project management by the upper-ups.. which isn't even your fault. then your boss calls for a meeting at the last minute when it could have been scheduled earlier in the day.. and the meeting gets dragged way beyond your working hours without prior notice or any trace of apologetic guilt.. resulting in having your long awaited meet-up being rescheduled. and to put the icing on top of the cake, you no longer have any gurantee whatsoever on the exact time you are able to knock off. then your boss ends it by scheduling another meeting the very next day.. at what time? 30 minutes before you supposedly get off work. perfect.

this contract ends on the 18th of may. followed by open bracket, subject to extension, close bracket. extend my foot. i miss the days of zero responsibility temp jobs.

this is scary. tomorrow ends week four on this job. time passes like no ones business. my first paycheque should supposedly be credited today, but my ledger is still empty for some reason. today i had a break from shenton and went to chaichee instead.. where we actually had a proper base.. instead of lingering around in the staff lounge. continued operation shadowing there. caught up with mei for lunch learnt some random stuff. and actually walked home from there. tomorrow, its back to shenton
