netsec was good. except i suddenly had a mental block on naming an asymmetric algorithm. dang. three letters like RSA are too hard to memorise anyways, destroyed all data in the hard drives and returned them.. along with the locker keys.. and we also had our card access to ifccu revoked on the spot. dumped the intel switch at alien's office. yay. goodbye tp!

this has to be the most relaxing study week in the whole of three years. like its the only non-mpsip semester with one paper. (you examless people can go and %$#@&!). spent about two half days on netsec compiling notes and doing past year papers. and i guess thats about it. no wonder my class isn't having a study session of any sort, which is why i ended up with 507 folks to study. they looked more stressed studying mugging for advanced java anyway. tsk tsk :x will [hopefully] sever all ties with tp on tuesday, when i'll return all mp material (6 hard disks, 2 locker keys, 1 freaking huge intel switch) in the morning and have my netsec paper in the afternoon. weeee~

it is almost impossible to grab dinner outside on 初一. i think i learnt that the hard way. my parents and elder sister are in bangkok. (if i knew earlier that they were only going for the weekend i would have went along). my younger sister is out somewhere. my domestic aid is over at my grandma's place, which during cny only hosts really unhealthy food. my throat is killing me. so yeah.. i drove out in search of food.. and found out marine parade was a ghost town. literally. well, the muslim/indian stalls were open. but not that i could get anything healthy. the rest of central and parkway was closed and deserted. bah. i settled for delifrance, since it was the only place open and i was hungry as can be. grrr.

the coming week is study week, which i have to study hard for a grand total of.. one miserable exam. still important nonetheless..

after that paper.. i'll give a bit of time to microsoft. there will be a vista "launch" event during the march IT Show happening at suntec. more like a post-launch or something. but yeah.. jimmy invited me and baofa to present there. on vista security. yay. march 8th - 11th. another line to my resume (:

yay! i passed! haha its a bare pass, but nevertheless, quite unexpected results:

its a just nice pass, but i was expecting to fail all. after the test, went to have dinner / supper with alex, victor, joy, winson, junyong, junhong, dawn, adeline, evelyn, gino, weichao, yukwai, johnny, boonsiong, luke, simin, and zac. first time having an unplanned casual dinner with so many people lol :p

was at the project superstar 2 finals in the indoor stadium yesterday.. and i like my seat number

some folks were also interested in the ongoing match between singapore and thailand. its just whether the concern was about the score or whether any violence occured. back to the pss2 finals, i thought i was going to be sitting in neutral seats, but alas, i ended up in the red zone.. so like yeah, support for the sake of supporting.. although in reality i don't really care who wins the method of revealing the winner was quite creative i must say! showing mini portraits of the two finalists in random places and eventually forming a collage of daren. then they started giving the cleaner auntie trouble by spraying confetti everywhere. and i DO mean everywhere. heres proof:

in short, the General Availability in Singapore is kinda boring. the VistaFiesta at funan is pretty quiet.. and the partners they roped in for the launch seem rather.. unprepared. some were still in the midst of installing vista and office at the end of the first day. dropped by parkway after breakfast just now and spotted (yea, i had to spot them since they weren't very obvious) several machines running vista in best and harvey. problem is.. the machines were locked ([Win]+[L]) like whats the point right -.-" bah.. so much for the marketing dollars..
