yesterday, after mugging for the morning and completing 4/5 of a RoSw paper, i decided to hop down to white sands to get my K700i a little firmware upgrade. people calling or smsing me had their names disappear off my screen for their numbers instead. so i had to guess who was calling. anyway, to my complete horror, the sony ericsson service point in the singpost outlet was replaced with a yellow pages collection centre.
furious, i made my way down to the wisma service centre. and they made me wait a day for a friggin firmware update that used to take 15 mins at a service point. the notice stuck on the wall told the world that SE decided to close not one, but all three of their service points. great.. just great.
and as i scrutinise my warranty card in pure boredom, the irony surfaces by itself. the first line goes "Congratulations on your new purchase". a few lines down it goes "In the unlikely event your SE product needs service, please visit the following service points" how unlikely now too, that the service points are no more either.
and today when i went to collect it, there was this kid there who had his mother order him to go down. well, short kid with punk 'do. he was asking for a replacement of some sort for a sandisk memory card he purchased elsewhere. and he was dead serious. i was about to laugh my head off when the service staff was trying to desperately explain the insanity invalidity of the request. i'm like hello? say you bought a dell pc. u dump the crap mouse for a $400 logitech. then when the logitech goes up in smoke, u go back to dell and ask why? i honestly wonder how the education system is screwing up the logical mindsets of our youth.
